Title: Causes of Child and Teenager Mortality in 2005 in Province Lorestan, Iran

Background: Studying the causes of morality in children and teenagers as well as controlling preventable causes can play an important role in promoting children health and society productivity. According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, every human being below the age of 18 is considered a child.
Objective: Considering the differences in the distribution patterns of child mortality causes in different countries and regions, data thereon should be studied separately in order for major legislations.
Materials: This retrospective cross-sectional study conducted on children under 18 years old in the period of 2007-2014 in Lorestan legal medicine research centre. Demographics of passed away individual have been studied including age, sex, cause of death. The main reason of death was classified in four main group of trauma, asphyxia, poisoning, and miscellaneous causes (including physiological disease, infant insufficiency, cancer, and unknown cause).
