Safety 2010, the 10th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion

10th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion; 21-24 September 2010, London, UK

Dear Colleague, We are delighted to announce that Safety 2010, the 10th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, will be held on 21st to 24th September 2010 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London , UK. Safety 2010 is a major world conference bringing together stakeholders in the prevention of unintentional injuries and violence from around the world to debate, discuss and exchange information and experiences. The conference will be co-sponsored by the World Health Organization. The key theme of the conference is Safe and Equitable Communities. This theme has been chosen to reflect the disproportionate burden from almost all types of injuries that falls on poorer communities. Such differences are apparent both within countries, between countries and even between global regions.

The conference programme will cover all aspects of injuries and safety including:

Burns, drowning and falls,  Occupational safety,  Road safety,  Sports injury,  Youth violence,  Child and elder abuse,  Intimate partner abuse and sexual violence ,  Self-harm and suicide,  Patient safety,  Community safety,  Consumer safety,  Disaster management and terrorism

The conference programme will include plenary presentations by invited speakers, concurrent sessions featuring presentations chosen from submitted abstracts, poster presentations and film and photography exhibits. Interactive sessions including skills-building workshops will also be provided.
